Rustic Restaurant Furniture For Your Food Service Outlet

By Lucia Weeks

You may have decided to open a new food outlet or refurbish the one you already have. You are looking for unique furnishings and have decided to go with rustic restaurant furniture in your venue. Depending on where you live, you may need to travel out of state to find the unique pieces you are looking for.

Most of these furnishings would be made of wood, usually walnut, oak, pine or hickory. Some of the materials used can even be logs, branches and reclaimed barn wood. The furnishing styles you can choose from include Southwestern, Mexican or traditional American. It is the construction of the individual pieces plus the paint, upholstery, stain, metal trims, hardware or leather added that will give each piece its own distinct personality.

Booths from reclaimed wood or other distressed materials can line the main room of the building. This can give the entire area a cozy and comfortable feel. Add antique signage on the walls as well as other vintage accessories for a truly distinctive and unique decor.

Picnic tables are easy to locate and can add real appeal to a food outlet. You can utilize them either inside or out and they can be painted or stained to match the rest of your interior and exterior decor. You can leave them as is and allow them to age and wear on a daily basis to get a truly unique patina.

Utilize a combination of booths and tables to create a truly authentic look for your business. Before arranging the tables and booths, lay out an effective floor plan on paper for optimal guest satisfaction and employee work flow. Maintain the ability to move both the tables and booths as needed for new looks throughout the year.

Mix a variety of old tables and wooden chairs for an eclectic look. Mix up the different pieces for a very cozy and vintage appeal that all of your customers will love. With the addition of vintage centerpieces and reproduction salt and pepper shakers and condiment containers, your outlet will have a very welcoming decor.

Choose other furnishings to match your interior decor such as buffet tables, display cases, bars, bar stools, host podiums, lounging area sofas and chairs, and even office furniture for the back of the house such as desks and file cabinets. Centerpieces, artwork and even special lighting will help blend everything together for a unified look.

Don't forget to carry on your theme in the restrooms, offices, and at the main entrance to the facility. Building features that also may feature this type of theme can include wooden planters, staircases, railings, floors and ceilings. Even the menus could have a vintage and homey feel in the artwork, fonts and even the food items featured.

Your refurbished or new outlet will become an instant hit after all of the new furnishings are in place. Customers will feel so at home and comfortable in the surroundings. Utilize this theme in all of your signage and advertising that you use to promote your food service venue.
