When Should I Replace My Fleet Graphics?

By Paula Hess

Those who have invested in fleet graphics will tell you that they can produce some of the finest long-term efforts in marketing. However, not everything lasts forever and, at some point or another, these graphics will start to wear down. Of course, those who are considered new adopters may wonder when these should be replaced. In order to go about such a process more effectively, it would be wise to follow these tips for the future.

One of the initial warning signs, according to authorities such as JMR Graphics, would be color and how it fades. Depending on environmental conditions, you may find that the colors of fleet graphics will fade more quickly than in other locations. Regardless, you have to understand that color leads to vibrancy - an essential component of out-of-home advertising - and the idea of this being lowered is nothing short of a problem. When colors start to fade, consider a change.

Fleet graphics may also be swapped out because of marks and scuffs that simply cannot come off. You must keep in mind that the vehicles the aforementioned graphics are connected to are going to be exposed to various conditions. What this means is that mud splashing on them and dirt being picked up especially by graphics which are heavily white, can occur. Unless these can be easily cleaned off with standard products, replacement must be considered.

When fleet graphics start to peel, you may want to change them out as well. If you want to talk about the main causes of peeling, as it relates to the graphics in question, you must consider the fact that poor application can play its role. When they aren't set on vehicles with the utmost accuracy, it's clear that air bubbles can be seen. When these are brought up, the likelihood of peeling increases, meaning that extra care is required during the application process.

With these points in mind, hopefully you will not have to use battered graphics for very long. You may wish to put off getting replacements, whether for financial reasons or what have you, but it would be unwise to wait very long. The sooner that you put off replacing old graphics for new ones, the higher the risk of lower returns will become. As long as you know when to replace these graphics, you will find that brand awareness will remain at the highest of levels.
