Carbon dioxide is a chemical compound that contains two oxygen atoms that are covalently bonded to a carbon atom and it is mostly a gas at the standard pressure and temperature. This compound is formed as a product of combustion of hydrocarbons and coals, respiration of living organisms and fermentation of sugar in wine brewing. This chemical compound can however be changed into different forms to be used for a variety of purposes. People use Chicago CO2 for various purposes some which are indicated below.

This compound is needed when designing beverages and soda water. When obtained from fermentation, this compound can be used to make alcoholic drinks. Usually, the intoxication value in alcoholic drinks is dependent on the quantity of carbon dioxide used.

Extinguishing fire may also depend on the use of this chemical substance. When altered into liquid form, CO2 can be used for extinguishing electrical and non-flammable fires. This compound can be contained in fire protection systems that are installed in houses to suppress fires. However, this gas cannot be used for extinguishing flammable fires as fire can restart in case of exposure to oxygen.

Chemical industries as well rely on CO2 for making urea and methanol. In addition, preparing some metal bicarbonates, carbonates and carboxylic acid derivatives requires the use of of this chemical substance. Normally, chemical manufacturing industries use this chemical compound for facilitating the production of these compounds by amalgamating it with other organic compounds at certain temperature and pressure.

Fridges along with other machines utilized for food preservation depend on this chemical compound. CO2 is essential as it can keep the food edible for a long time. The main reason as to this is the fact that when altered to fluid or solids, its temperature as well changes which is mostly below zero, a condition where chemical bacteria and other organisms which can spoil foods would not able to survive in.

Recovering oil products would as well need the use of CO2. When added into oil wells, CO2 facilitates the reduction of the residual saturation of the oil which leads to increased oil production. This is because carbon dioxide is a pressurizing agent that can lower the viscosity of the crude oil to affect the surface chemistry which boosts oil production.

In most biological applications this chemical compound is also essential. Plants for instance require this compound to carry out the photosynthesis process. In addition, the atmosphere in greenhouses can be improved using C02 as the compound works to enhance growth. The gas can also works to kill pests in the greenhouses such as spiders, mites and whiteflies.

It is important to know the uses of Chicago CO2 as you would be able to determine how this compound can be beneficial in your daily living. The main reason as to this is because CO2 can be used as a facilitating agent in various processes and if you do not know this, you can be at risk of the various dangers that may result from using such materials. With the above given points, you can easily determine how carbon dioxide has been useful in your life, which can help you any hazards that may arise if you use it wrongly.
